Lean2: A Balanced Approach to Problem-Solving

How would you handle this situation?

Rebecca is the CEO of a national corporation. She's worried about the performance of her organization. The processes are old and in need of an update. She's nervous about the changes to come. She recognizes that it will impact not only operations but also her staff. This is particularly worrisome. These are good people who have invested much of their lives in the business. Their talent built the company. Anything new must have balance and be in harmony with the organization, adopted and not forced.

She decided to adopt an approach that addresses the problem, is built by a team of employees, and is implemented by managing the transition to something new. She was delighted with the results.

A hypothetical example but perhaps familiar? We are all faced with daily challenges, just like this. How do we react? Undoubtedly, we can focus solely on the process and may time do. This is the easy part as it has no emotion. We must also recognize that any change impacts people and therefore managed. Finally, we want our transition to be a team response based on the expertise of those who use the process. Experienced practitioners understand that Process, Talent, and Change Management are the three critical components of adoption.

Lean2: A Balanced Approach to Problem-Solving reveals how to blend these three components into a workable and proven model. The most successful projects combine process, workforce, and the impact of change. Without question, each part is a specific practice. Combine them and like compound interest, results multiple. I have seen successes as well as failures. The most consistent cause of failure is disregard for people, their skills, and emotions. I'm offering a better approach, to blend the best of these vital behaviors into something extraordinary.
